What will I Learn & Achieve?

During your time at MPCT you will learn in a variety of environments including gymnasiums, sports halls, recreational fields and the classroom. MPCT has an outdoor training facility where learners take part in overnight exercises to improve camouflage and concealment and team-working skills. What Will I Learn?

In addition to the active learning, learners are also mentored in the Essential Skills of Application of Number, Communication and ICT. This ensures that learners meet the academic standards demanded by their future employer.

To further assist learners in making a positive transition, they take part in interview skills lessons, where they conduct role play scenarios and give feedback to their peers to help them improve. As well as this learners can use the College's IT facilities to research careers in the Armed Forces, Public Services, the sports sector and all other routes. All learners will have support creating and updating their CV to help with future employment.

Learners spend half of each day taking part in sport and physical training with MPCT's own instructors. Training is individually tailored to each learner, based on the requirements of their particular job choice, and their level of fitness when they start the course. All learners are encouraged and motivated by the instructors, and their progress is closely monitored to ensure continuous improvement.

MPCT has gained approval from Edexcel and City & Guilds to deliver recognised qualifications including BTEC Level 1 in Military & Public Services, Sport and Active Leisure and a qualification in Personal and Social Development.
