Excellent CPD Opportunities

MPCT believes in the DfES philosophy that effective teachers should take ownership and give a high priority to professional development (DfES, 2000). Continuous Professional Development is the on going training and education throughout a career to improve the skills and knowledge used to perform a job or succession of jobs. CPD at MPCT is a planned, structured process, involving the assessment of development needs and the tailoring of training to meet those needs. MPCT's CPD policy is founded on the belief that the development of staff should not finish after initial qualification and/or training, especially in a fast changing environment in which skills are likely to obsolesce quickly. CPD requires commitment and resources from both the employee and the employer. MPCT's policy also provides staff members with a framework of individual progression within MPCT.

Child Care Vouchers

MPCT offers all staff the opportunity to access a child care voucher scheme through BUSYBEES. This scheme enables employees to make their child care more affordable. Child care vouchers can be used to pay for any registered child care for children up to the age of 16. Operated via salary sacrifice, employees will make tax and national insurance savings, employees can save up to £933 per year.

Pension Scheme

MPCT offers all eligible staff members a WORK PLACE PENSION contributing a minimum of 2% leading to 4% of qualifying earnings by 2018. You’ll automatically be enrolled into MPCT pension scheme if you’re eligible and not already a member. You can opt out, but if you do you may be missing out on valuable contributions, further information will be available on induction.

Excellent Holiday Package

You will receive 40 days holiday pay throughout a holiday year. This is 43% above the legal holiday requirement. Holidays are based on a full college closure to ensure staff have a quality break.

Monthly Contribution to Leisure Activities

MPCT employees are given £15 a month towards a well-being activity. Any activity that contributes to an employees well-being will be considered for payment and is claimed through expenses on a monthly basis. At MPCT we believe creating a good work life balance is important to keeping staff healthy and motivated.

Christmas Savings Club

At MPCT we offer an opportunity to start saving in January, you let us know of an amount you’d like to save each month, we will automatically deduct this from your salary and in November, you will receive your savings back, with the added bonus of a 10% top up from MPCT!

Motivation & Learning Trust Prize Draw

As part of a fundraising initiative, the MOTIVATION & LEARNING TRUST have introduced a lottery style prize draw. This draw will help raise funds on a regular basis for the charity and will be supported by its trustees, associated companies, families and friends. We would like the permission of all staff to include them into this prize draw by agreeing to donate a minimum of £2 per month every month. This donation would be taken directly from your salary and every £2 donated will result in an entry to a prize draw. The prize draw will take place every half term and a cash prize will be given.

Group Life Assurance

Also known as Death in Service Policy. All staff have life assurance with MPCT with Group Life cover in place, we offer financial support to our employees' loved ones as well as practical bereavement support at a time when they need it the most.This is a non taxable benefit and will pay your next of kin 4 times your annual salary if you should die whilst in service with MPCT.
